The Baghdad Villa

Set in Baghdad after the 2003 U.S. invasion, The Baghdad Villa follows a young woman, Ghosnelban, as her family and the world she knows begin to collapse amid escalating violence and political upheaval. She tries to understand the chaos by interpreting seven famous paintings hanging in her family’s villa, while the novel traces three generations and shows how coups and wars uproot a deeply rooted Iraqi family.
